국제사이클연맹(UCI)을 대표하여, 투르 드 경남 2026에 참가하거나 이를 지원하는 모든 분들께 진심 어린 축하와 응원의 말씀을 전하게되어 매우 기쁘게 생각합니다.


2026년 6월 9일부터 13일까지 개최되는 이번 대회는 2025년부터 UCI 아시아 투어에 편입된 대회로, 약 550km에 이르는 여정을 펼치게됩니다. 대한민국 남부 지역을 통과하는 다양하고 도전적인 코스는 치열한 스포츠 경쟁과 함께 뛰어난 자연경관을 동시에 선사할 것입니다.


투르 드 경남은 한국 선수들뿐만 아니라 아시아 지역 전반의 사이클 유망주 육성을 위한 중요한 플랫폼입니다. 이와 같은 대회는 UCI 대륙별 서킷에서 매우 중요한 역할을 하며, 신예 선수들이 수준 높은 국제대회 경험을 쌓고 세계 정상급 선수들과 경쟁할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.


이러한 점에서 투르 드 경남은 아시아 사이클 발전에 있어 매우 중요한 대회로 자리매김하고 있으며, 영주에 위치한 대한민국 UCI 월드사이클센터(WCC) 대륙개발위성센터와 연계된 선수 육성 체계를 보완하는 역할도 수행하고 있습니다. 해당 센터는 젊은 선수들이 세계 최고수준으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 하고 있습니다.


5개 스테이지 동안 선수단은 거제, 통영, 사천, 남해, 창원을 지나게 되며, 이 지역들은 아름다운 해안 경관과 섬 지역의 매력, 그리고 역동적인 도시 환경이 조화를 이루고 있습니다. 이번 대회 코스는 경상남도의 문화유산과 현대적 발전이 어우러진 다양성을 다시 한번 보여줄 것이며, 동시에 이러한 환경을 미래 세대를 위해 보존하는 중요성 또한 강조하게 될 것입니다.


이번 대회를 위해 지속적인 헌신과 전문성을 보여주고 있는 경상남도, 경상남도체육회, 경상남도사이클연맹, 대한사이클연맹을 비롯하여모든 지방자치단체, 후원사, 파트너 및 자원봉사자 여러분께 진심으로 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.

On behalf of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), it is my great pleasure to send my best wishes to everyone taking part in, or supporting, 

the 2026 Tour de Gyeongnam.


Taking place from 9 to 13 June 2026, this stage race, which joined the UCI Asia Tour in 2025, will cover approximately 550 kilometres. The demanding and varied route through the southern region of the Republic of Korea, combines intense sporting competition with landscapes of remarkable beauty.


The Tour de Gyeongnam represents an important platform for the development of cycling talent, both for riders from Korea and the wider surrounding region. Events of this nature are essential within our UCI Continental Circuits, as they enable emerging athletes to gain experience in high-level international races and measure themselves against some of the world’s strongest riders.


As such, the Tour de Gyeongnam stands as an essential fixture for the development of cycling in Asia, complementing the athlete development pathways associated with South Korea’s UCI World Cycling Centre Continental Development Satellite in Yeongju, which plays a key role in supporting the progression of young riders to the highest level.


Across its five stages, the peloton will traverse Geoje, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Namhae, and Changwon, areas that combine coastal landscapes, island settings, and dynamic urban environments. The route will once again highlight the diversity of South Gyeongsang Province, reflecting its blend of cultural heritage and modern development, while underlining the importance of preserving these environments for future generations.


I would like to sincerely thank Gyeongsangnam-do, the Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Council, the Gyeongsangnam-do Cycling Federation, and the Korea Cycling Federation, together with all local authorities, sponsors, partners, and volunteers, for their continued commitment and professionalism in delivering this event.


It remains for me to wish every success to all riders and teams taking part in this 2026 edition of the Tour de Gyeongnam.
